Terme di Saturnia
The legend tells that Saturn, god of peace and abundance, loses patience when he sees the constant war of men. So he throws a thunderbolt into the earth, causing a river of magic hot water to flow through valleys, mountains and plains. Men and things are then warmly enveloped, so that their spirits are finally appeased. Around this ancient source of health, Terme di Saturnia has developed over 100 years of hospitality into a contemporary five-star resort, nestled in a beautiful and unspoiled landscape in the heart of the Tuscan Maremma, an unspoiled region with enchanting scenery, including the Argentario coastline, Mount Amiata, small medieval villages and ancient Etruscan and Roman sites. The ultimate destination to enjoy nature in all its shades of beauty. With a spa and beauty clinic, hot water pools and an 18-hole geocertified golf course, it is the ideal place to leave the busy world behind, cradled in the healing embrace of nature.
For 3,000 years, thermal water has been flowing continuously from the center of the earth into the resort’s crater at a temperature of 37.5°C. The spring naturally fills with 500 liters of fresh water every four hours, without any human intervention. This process allows the water to retain its purity and natural health benefits. This water traveled for 40 years underground through passages lined with 60 meters of clay, before emerging to the surface. 2,790 grams of mineral salts are dissolved in each liter of water, in addition to sulfur dioxide and carbon dioxide.
The water of the Terme di Saturnia contains sulfur, carbon dioxide, sulfate, bicarbonate and alkali as well as calcium and magnesium. While bathing in the spring, one notices the natural thermal plankton. This organic-mineral substance has a gelatinous consistency, varies in color and appears on contact with air. Its unique properties have an extraordinary impact on the skin and extracts are used in Terme di Saturnia’s treatments and cosmetics range.
The innovative SPA & Beauty Clinic, one of the largest and most renowned in the world, has 53 treatment rooms and offers personalized advice from a team of experts and allows clients to choose from a wide range of treatments that best suit their personal needs: massages, medical and aesthetic treatments, specialized services, nutritional advice, and thermal therapies. It offers a series of personalized programs and experiences to nourish the body and mind directly at the source. The rejuvenating power of thermal water, combined with innovative methods, helps clients find a new sense of well-being. Balneotherapy, or thermal water bathing, is one of the oldest and purest forms of treatment for re-energizing the body and mind. Hydrofitness involves a series of movements in flowing water from showers, jets and waterfalls. The inhalation of healing thermal water vapor during hydrotherapy is used as an effective treatment for respiratory problems. In addition, the mud therapy of the resort is used to treat and prevent osteoarticular pathologies and is also prescribed for anti-aging treatments. The Saturnia mud is matured in sulfurous water for twelve months and mixed with thermal water and algae before being applied to the body. Aesthetic treatments such as fillers, injections, peels and laser are also available. Specialized services include consultations in medical thermalism, dermatology, physiatry and naturopathy.

Terme di Chianciano
Terme di Chianciano SPA was founded in 1915 and has been in continuous development since then. Terme di Montepulciano
The Terme di Montepulciano is a characteristic thermal park located in the splendid town of Montepulciano, in the Sienese countryside, between the two tourist areas of Val d’Orcia and Val di Chiana. Its isolated position on the slopes of the Sienese hills places it in the center of an area that is easy to reach from all directions. Geographically, it is at the center of a square whose vertices are represented by the cities of Siena, Arezzo, Perugia and Orvieto.
Montepulciano is also located in the context of a region, that of Crete-Monte Amiata-Val d’Orcia, with a very strong thermal vocation. There are at least four important thermal centers within a few kilometers of Montepulciano: Terme di Chianciano, the wellness center of Rapolano, Bagno Vignoni and Bagni San Filippo.
The Terme di Montepulciano was founded in 1966 to exploit the therapeutic properties of the salsobromoid sulfurous waters rich in carbon dioxide present in the subsoil of the settlement. They presented themselves with those characteristics of environmental, scientific and therapeutic comfort, which led the structure, even in its early years, to compete with those historically more important.
