Chanel’s emblematic signature, the intertwined double C inspires the Winter 2021 Eyewear collection. Reinterpreted in a daring volume and worked in the spirit of a baroque jewel, it is positioned like a brooch on both the sunglasses and the optical frames. One of the Cs is adorned with a chain interlaced with leather; the other C is set with shimmering square rhinestones. A sophisticated two-tone, two-material combination, that coordinates each time with the colour of the temples.
The sunglasses designs have temples swathed in black, beige, burgundy, navy blue, pine green or chocolate-hued leather. Wide and curved, they frame four graphic shapes: two cat-eyes – one edgy and highly structured, the other more rounded –, a butterfly shape with a vintage feel and a rectangle shape with softened angles.
Four optical frames are also adorned with this double C jewel. A high square shape with a preppy spirit and a square with strong curves, playing on XL volumes. Alongside them, a rectangular and a new cat eye revisit the masculine-feminine spirit of Chanel through hybrid geometric lines. These optical frames come in black, tortoiseshell, pine green, navy, chocolate or raspberry acetate, depending on the design. In order to protect the eyes as much as possible even when they don’t need correcting, these four frames, in their black or tortoiseshell versions, have anti-UV and blue light lenses.
Three new timeless pairs of glasses complete the Winter 2021 collection: a cat eye with softened lines and an angled rectangular shape for the two optics, as well as a discreet cat eye for the sunglasses design. Available in a neutral palette of black and green acetate and three shades of tortoiseshell, all are embellished with slender gold, silver or ruthenium metal temples, engraved tone-on-tone with the letters Chanel at the temple hinge and signed at the tip with a double C visible through the transparency.
