Ground-breaking design has always been part of Ideal Standard’s DNA. Working with Master designers like Gio Ponti in the 1950s or Achille Castiglioni and Paolo Tilche in the 1970s and 1980s, the company was instrumental in developing bathrooms from a purely functional room to a real living space that holds a prominent role in the house – not only it introduced design in the world of bathrooms, it influenced society as a whole and redefined the role of the bathroom within it. In December 2018, Ideal Standard announced its exclusive long-term partnership with renowned design studio Palomba Serafini Associati, and the first ranges resulting from this cooperation were launched in September 2020 marking the beginning of a new era of Design. The new collection comprises a range of unique ceramics and fittings, as well as furniture and a bath tub, and in a bold move sees a return to the use of colour to enhance modern interiors projects. Palomba Serafini Associati has been trendsetter in bathroom design for the last 25 years. Beyond the bathroom space, the studio collaborates with leading international brands like Kartell or Samsung and it is internationally recognized having received a multitude of prestigious awards, including the acclaimed Compasso D’Oro. To date, PS+A is the only studio which received this award for a bathroom project.

For public washrooms, the new generation of Ideal Standard’s touch-free, soap integrated sensor-tap INTELLIMIX® and the newly developed, mobile-enabled SPHERO™ antisplash urinal provide ultimate convenience to both users and operators. Ideal Standard also created and are the patent owners of the ceramic disc cartridge that put an end to dripping taps and are today used by the whole industry. In November 2016, Ideal Standard opened the Design Bathroom Centre, the first-of-its-kind in the region, a luxury designed establishment of 1000 sq. meters, located on Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai. It is a one-stop destination for all bathroom solutions, showcasing all design ranges, innovations and complete bathroom solutions. Later in November 2017,
Ideal Standard opened its second Design Bathroom Centre in Cairo, Egypt to showcase all its different product ranges that vary in design and innovations.
