Sensational structure in Palm Jumeirah

You only have to know that the villa designed by SAOTA in collaboration with CK Architecture Interiors is located on the G frond of Palm Jumeirah, in Dubai, known as “Billionaires Row”, to understand the scope of the project. In the absence of designated owners, the imagination was free to express itself for a breathtaking result.

The only imperative? Use the space wisely and imbue it with an atmosphere of sober luxury. In other words, a brief that lends itself to the greatest freedom of expression. This is how SAOTA and CK Architecture Interiors envisaged this picturesque site on Palm Jumeirah, Dubai. A four-level structure quickly emerged, a deliberate decision that allowed the living spaces to stand out. The soaring design also makes room for bold architectural choices, such as the three-volume central courtyard around which the residence’s social rooms are grouped. On the street side, the facade is closed, foreshadowing a traditionally private home. As you approach, you realize the sophistication of the structural devices and trompe-l’œil that break the monotony of the walls: alternating light and dark, superimposed materials, juxtaposed textures and, here and there, a frank transparency. Like a crescendo of air, this porosity develops into a total opening onto the sea. Seen from this angle, the house vibrates in unison with its surroundings. Terraces, green corners and pergolas add a touch of freshness and greenery to the sea air. This connection with nature is amplified by the choice of natural materials: travertine flagstones, wood and marble in earth tones. A true lesson in “Less is more!”
