DTK Studio, founded by David T’Kint, realizes a food market in Riyadh as the embodiment of a modern lifestyle, woven with the tapestry of the region’s heritage, bringing harmony in the diversity of its composition and offerings. Immersed in the abundant essence of Japanese Art Deco, it is the result of a fusion of innovation, sustainability and human-centered styling. It is a testament to the cultural and social metamorphosis taking place in Saudi Arabia. Upon entry, customers are guided by the focal points at the heart of Via Mercato, the glamorous Caviar Bar and the magnificent staircase. Clad in marble with a railing of leather and high-quality veneer, the staircase serves as a structural and visual anchor. The ethereal skylight bathes the area in an intriguing fusion of mystery and opulence. A vast vertical expanse is exploited by the mezzanine to expand the retail offering. In addition, a meticulously selected collection of various retail stands ranges from the aromatic appeal of the Matcha Bar to the mouth-watering rotisserie. Added to this are beef of exceptional quality, delicious fresh pastries, succulent fruits, a captivating array of cheeses and a tempting pizzeria. The mezzanine, linked by the splendid staircase, houses a sumptuous private restaurant as well as an extension of the retail kiosks. Japanese Art Deco elements adorn the space with a breathtaking glass roof, wooden trellises, slender wall sconces and imposing columns,, blending contemporary touches with the timeless elegance of continuous arches and dark metals. Despite a very tight schedule requiring completion in just a few months, DTK Studio demonstrated unwavering strategic expertise, sourcing locally available materials and planning every aspect of the project.
