In Shanghai, lightness and expertise in an elegant symphony of styles

flexform-residence-shanghai-new

Far from the frenzy and chaos of Shanghai, Flexform designed the interiors and furnishings of a sumptuous residence surrounded by greenery. The building’s architecture is classically inspired by the Georgian style, which was very popular in some areas of the USA between the 17th and 18th centuries. One of the main features of these constructions is the presence of bow windows, which are integrated throughout the project.

Not far from the city of Shanghai, a peaceful haven recently benefited from an interior refurbishment involving the rearrangement of numerous rooms, with the aim of preserving its retro charm, while infusing it with a more modern tone, thanks in particular to the choice of resolutely contemporary furniture by Flexform. Without a doubt, the highlight of the ground floor is the large living room with its double-height bow window and fireplace. In this space, the client requested a living area in which the family could gather comfortably and also entertain guests. Selected to furnish this room was a corner arrangement of the new Camelot seating system, facing an Arnold coffee table. An Eri armchair and Bangkok ottomans complete the decor. The palette of neutral colors and texturally rich materials – like oak wood, leather and cowhide – lend an atmosphere of warm modernity to this space. A particular area adjacent to the living room, set aside specifically at the request of the client, is used as a smoking room. Here, the homeowner enjoys inviting friends to join him in smoking choice cigars imported from around the world. Opening onto a spacious, fully-equipped kitchen, the dining room is more personal and reserved. Furnished with an Arnold table flanked by Alma chairs, it invites you to share convivial meals in a welcoming, refined atmosphere. The double-door Earl cabinet provides perfect storage for plates, glasses and all the necessities for appointing the table. Its discretion and sophistication enrich the room with subtlety. A magnificent staircase of spectacular shapes leads to the upper floor, where the bedrooms are housed. In the entrance hall, at the foot of the stairs, sits the Lauren folding armchair. Located on the second floor, the master bedroom enjoys a splendid view of the balcony and garden below. Walls clad in elegant white lacquered woodwork immerse the room in an atmosphere of cozy sophistication. With its leather upholstered headboard, the Gregory bed is matched by Adler bedside tables and a pair of Bangkok poufs. The Tessa armchair, in wood and woven cord, is perfectly positioned near the window.
