An apartment with a cutting-edge design
An apartment in the Russian city of Novogorsk has been renovated by Kerimov Architects to create a luxurious, functional space in soothing, contrasting colors. The exterior combines with the interior to create a magnificent showcase.
Kerimov Architects has brilliantly renovated a 240 m2 mansion in the heart of Novogorsk, Khimki, Russia, despite the zoning constraints imposed by the original plan, which was difficult to modify due to load-bearing walls. The style of the interior takes advantage of the natural environment to allow light to flood into the apartment, hence the large windows and roof dormer. The materials used in the building act against the cold, which approaches freezing temperatures. Wood and stone, in addition to concrete, are used for a solid construction that defies winter storms and tempests. The idea of functionality that guided the project is realized with an elegant living room and dining area, a practical kitchen, a master bedroom and three bathrooms, two children’s rooms and a third for guests. The dining room, with its light-wood table and chairs, invites warm meals with family and friends. Life flows slowly and peacefully in this magical place, where family members gather to share moments of discussion, fulfillment and joy.
