In the vineyards of Martha
The result of a collaboration between Gray Organschi Architecture and Schiller Projects, this family home is located on Martha’s Vineyard Island, Massachusetts. It blends wonderfully into a soothing natural environment and enjoys a rich and varied panorama.
The project is carried out by Aaron Schiller in collaboration with Alan Organschi, both renowned architects and designers whose studios are located in Manhattan and Connecticut respectively. It is a family mansion built on virgin land in the town of Chilmark, in the southern part of Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, a prime vacation spot for the american jet set and the presidents of the United States. Situated on a hill in the heart of exceptionally unspoiled nature, it enjoys a unique setting: surrounded by vast green areas, it enjoys, among other things, a view of the Atlantic and Chilmark pond. It actually comprises two separate buildings, a two-story house and a studio, designed immersed in the agrarian history of the island. The north side of the property allows direct access to the upper level of the villa, where the common living rooms are arranged, while the private areas are on the lower level. The facades clad with beams of burnt cedar wood give it a sober and robust accent that contrasts with the delicacy of a bright and refined interior. A superb success where it is good to live!
