Newly designed between the lakes and surrounding mountains of the Wanaka region of New Zealand, this home, designed by Barry Condon of Condon Scott Architects, is a sight to behold with its spectacular views and an original rock wall holding it back.
A cozy home with four bedrooms, the combination of stone and wood gives it a contemporary surreal feel. The owners, an active couple, regularly entertain their children and grandchildren for lively visits in the well-sheltered backyard. In addition, the design of this home by Barry Condon of Condon Scott Architects reveals large glass windows and wooded doors for a well-casual environment. Set on a steep hillside, it offers a magnificent landscape, where the blue lake blends with the green mountains for an incomparable environment between sky and earth. Moreover, the key element of this residence is only this large internal entertainment space closely connected to the living room, with its glass sliders limiting the boundaries of the place. These sliding wooden screens are unique and special features of the internal cloister soaked in the welcoming daylight. Moreover, the art collection and interesting books of the owners are well displayed at the border of the living room located in the heart of the building. Also, corridors connect the main wing to the guest wing. It’s good to have fun and be entertained for a few moments and enjoy the present. Yet, even when the chill wind blows, the entertainment goes on, because the interior is designed for the well-being of the residents. The shimmering, subdued colors inside and out create a peaceful atmosphere on hot summer days and cold winter days.
