Shanghai-based architecture firm Lukstudio has brilliantly designed a social club in Hankou, Wuhan, China. Called BeInfinity, it embodies a psychology of vibrant colors and innovative geometry to meet a variety of motivations. With 3,500 m² of dynamic activity space, this revolutionary center is not just a destination, it’s an exhilarating journey into the future of holistic wellness.

Located at the top of a shopping mall in downtown Hankou, Wuhan, China, BeInfinity is a platform that meets diverse needs for training, playing, decompressing and even sharing online content. Adopting a clear geometric order with vivid tones and user-friendly materials, architecture firm Lukstudio signs here a playful escape. Inspired by the game Tetris and the psychology of color, each zone is designed as a “dopamine block”. Red, a symbol of strength and excitement, dominates the gym; serene blue provides a soothing backdrop for precision activities such as air rifle shooting and baseball bats; bright yellow breathes joy into the snookball, volleyball and ping-pong rooms. This visual approach also acts as a guide. To complete this burst of color, the atrium and relaxation areas are lined with neutral grays and wood tones. Combining climbing, basketball and boxing, the high-ceilinged surface is equipped with a central stage and a large LED screen for group classes and game broadcasts. Echoing the circles of a basketball court, the two semi-circular balconies stand out like “whites” for observation or a break. The design also uses graphic motifs for added vitality. The gradient metal ceiling grid changes density according to level; wood wool panels divided into pixels draw arrows or graphics on the walls; the same progressive form is found in the staircase concept. In the café, sports elements are integrated into the furniture: a green sofa trimmed with red dots imitating a baseball; table legs simulating body-building weights; wooden stools taking on the appearance of jumping boxes… BeInfinity presents a different vision of sports centers, where design and the play of colors guarantee a dual sense of well-being, exercise and conviviality.
