A Brazilian haven for indoor-outdoor living

Located in Fazenda da Grama, Itupeva, Brazil, and designed by Perkins&Will Studio, this luxurious residence is a balanced blend of indoor and outdoor living. The elegant design style embraces the topography of the sloping terrain while ensuring a connection with the local landscape. Explore the wonders of this 1,300 m² property, characterized by breathtaking views and organic elements that captivate and inspire.

At one with the verdant countryside of Itupeva, Brazil, this house designed by Perkins&Will Studio makes cleverly uses the slope of the land to bring residents and nature together. The combination of striking lines, layered volumes, skylights and transparency form structures that are strategically integrated into the landscape, creating an interaction between inside and outside. Spanning 3 floors and 1,300 m², the residence is divided into 5 sectors: intimate, social, leisure, guests and services. The layout favors the privacy of the family – a couple and their two children – while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. The lower level houses the social accesses and services. A vast staircase leads up to the intermediate landing, comprising the social block, a multifunctional room linked to a patio with lawn and swimming pool, where a pergola connects the spaces, as well as the leisure and guest areas. The top floor, reserved for private use, guarantees total discretion. The site design, including the use of traditional materials in light tones, by Renata Tilli and Juliana do Val (Gaia Projetos) reinforces the integration with the environment, with the residence appearing to rest on a pre-existing garden. Jabuticaba fruit trees, a fish pond and organic patterns that respect the rhythm of the plants blur the boundaries between inside and outside. Vegetation is also used as a physical and visual barrier. Wooden ceilings evoke warmth while referencing existing flora. Finally, the metal elements of the marquee add a contemporary touch. In the interior surfaces, designed by Camila and Mariana Lellis, raw components take center stage, with wood as the focal point.
