A construction in the middle of a rocky area
In the heart of Arizona, USA, stands a majestic hillside residence built by Kendle Design Collaborative. Popping up behind a rocky outcrop in the middle of a desert site, it features a simple material palette of split-face blocks and full-color stucco for an original and innovative look.
Set on a natural open lot, the home is established with main areas located on the upper floor. The entertainment rooms, terrace, bedrooms and office, extending over a central entrance and submerged garage, offer a magnificent view. The property’s interior designed by Kendle Design Collaborative architectural firm is a perfect blend of concrete floors, natural stone, high gloss cabinetry and dark bronze anodized accents. Showcased well, a cantilevered wood cascade staircase is incorporated into the building, with a stone-clad wall backdrop for an original pathway leading from the foyer to the second floor. And for seamless indoor-outdoor living, the family room and kitchen feature sliding glass doors, which disappear behind the fireplace or stack to one side promoting total discretion between rooms. Outdoors, the various spaces, arranged around the L-shaped pool, are ideal for gathering, lounging or enjoying the ambiance of the fire for happy moments away from everyday worries. In fact, the placement of the pool at this level well above the natural stage provides a negative edge aspect reflecting the surrounding surreal panoramic views.
